Stepping away from the coastline, this journey begins with a drive toward the Don Diego River—one of the gateways to the ancestral world of the Tayrona civilization. From here, a gentle 20-minute walk through vibrant jungle scenery brings you to Taironaka, a sacred archaeological site where ancient stone terraces, pathways and reconstructed dwellings reveal the sophistication of a culture deeply connected to the natural world.
With your guide, you explore the site’s terraces and learn how the Tayrona designed their settlements in harmony with the mountains.
